I was going to out here in Cali but it was $30000 an I read on streetsource that it wasn't worth the money from a few different people so I decided not to. But what are you taking?
FORD FACT/auto/diesel indus..... grand total= $40k... lmfao... but it would be considered my future investment...so... one time pymnt of $40k... for a future income of UP TO AND (from a few sources) $80k, $40k would be nothing really... but that 80k would prolly be later while i earn more credit from the employer or whatever....
my buddy is going down there. i was going to go with him but just like yota said. i heard it wasnt all that great from a few different sources and the price tag was too much for me
I went to UTi in phx back in 2000. I went for the hvac program. I thought it was a good school. When I would go to job interviews after I graduated n employers always looked at that as a bonus which helped out alot. I cant b lieve its that much now.
Ya even my buddy that's goin there said all there programs suck beside the diesel. An ya after I told the guy I wasn't going to go he kinda just talked sh*t to me so I was like whatever man
i worked with 2 guys that went to the phoenix location for diesel tech. they both said it was a waste of money.. they paid like $27k for school, and when they got out of school no companies trust them to do the big work. they were stuck doing the same stuff as guys off the street with no schooling.
When I went it was 14k. Auto was the same price. Auto/diesel was no more than 20k at that time. I have seen some of my friends do really good after they finished. even myself ive done pretty good now at the school district as a a/c tech. I dont make as much as i want, but the benifits, all the time u get off makes up for it. I here some people say it was a waist of time, or was not worth it, to me it was worth the experience. Also I think ur only gonna get what u put into it, if u do sh.t half a$$ ur gonna get a half a$$ job like b n a oil b!tch at wal mart or jiffylube. Wut im say n to the younger crowd is jus give it everthing u got n end results will show
f_ck man, i should have asked this question last year, when i was enrolling... FUUCCKKKK!!!!!!.... well, hope all goes well, and yeah, my friend only went to the school for like 1.5 mos then he quit cuz he said it was mainly book work.. o well... FTP
So today was my first day at UTI, man do they f_cking stress the uniform policy!!! lol... how it affects your grades and your "professionalism" that's basically what we talked bout today.... it was somewhat boring.. lol... talked about rules and no backing into parking lots or you'll get a ticket.... no going faster than 10mph in teh parking lot or you'll get a ticket.... and thats about it... rules and regulations... and professionalism.. lol... so yea dudes.... write this **** down, this is worth 6 hours of course time at your local UTI, LMFAO!
one guy I work with is doing UTI then the ford school through them and says the general part is a waste but the mfr schools are good. he knows how to work on cars already and said half the people there shouldn't be allowed to touch cars. Few other people I know went and said it was a waste. One guy I know loved it but he puts every bolt in a car on with his snapon 975 ftlb impact gun cause he knows how it feels and torque wrenches have to be calibrated or they're junk. then, after he strips an O2 sensor out of someones pretty stainless turbo downpipe, JB welded it back in. yea, cause someone with that kind of thing isn't gonna ever take it apart again, especially when it's still in the stage where he's ironing out all the wiring, routing, parts, etc. I have a few other stories but long story short, UTI is VERY specific job placement that you get out of what you put in, minus a little. Most dealerships will start you out as oil-change b**** like everyone else. I know a number of shops that will tell you to try somewhere else if you ask for a job (I would unless I knew the person already). best part is if you end up not liking the field, you have absolutely nothing to show for it. community college might not be as fast or have the mfr programs but you do get a real degree out of it that's good anywhere (just not good for MUCH lol) but since you're already going, good luck. remember to go out of your way to learn things and meet people. the biggest benefit of going there isn't the high quality education but the chance to rub shoulders with the big-wigs that do respect UTI
