I went to a local yard today to search for some parts and deep in a soggy mosquito rich bottom I discovered some dead lowrider mini trucks !! Mazdas, Mitsu's and Toyotas....well I had to go back and get my camera .

 

and here are some more !!!! got a story on this mazda !! .... The guy who owns the yard built this truck in 1989...sold it.....The guy who bought it got busted for sellng drugs and the truck went into impound. Later the original builder bought it off of the police impounders and pulled the motor for another project. It has been in the woods ever since......check out the tweed interior, pop off top...and the neon effect airbrush work !! Oh yeah the teal color was the rage back then

 

damn...got some good stuff just rusting away!

 

here is my dead mini !! It was the yellow one in my avatar pic....but the cancer was too bad so its a parts cow now !!

Is that chrome bumper on the toy on the far right pic any good? I need one. Would look good on this vvv truck. I have an SR5 chrome grill.

 

I think so ....I can go back and check but with some DEET !!!! The mosquitos there were horrid !

Ya last time I went to the junk yard there was an old school datsun convertible

 

there was a old school ranger at my local pick n pull. it had scallops and a removable hardtop. i said it was cool and they said make an offer. i told them $100 and they wouldn't take it

there was also a half way chopped, hacked bag setup dakota... they wanted a mint for it and it was all messed up.

 

From what I could tell the Mazda had nothing left usable.....the Mitsu did however...it had a nice dash and other interior stuff...but dats about it. I will go back when the darn mosquitos die...It was the worst I have ever seen....black swarming clouds of blood draining vermine !!

 

Everyone should take picks of what they can find in their local yards .... be nice to see what might turn up from the golden era of mini truckin !!

LOL yeah I had them on my GTI's back in the day!! What about those funny little louver things people used to put on their wiper arms ...usually in a bright neon color........Oh the early 90's ....
