so i've been looking for a front sway bar for a while. my truck doesnt have one(i think the previous owner took it off). i found a 1 ton sway bar at pick-n-pull today but im having problems getting it off. do i have to take the torsions off? if so, this would explain why my torsions are off a little

i was planning on sliding it out but it being a 1" sway bar makes it a bit difficult. i dropped the spindles to get more room but its hitting the tranny and torsion bars

the problem you are having is not the torsins but that the moon bushings are seezed to the sway bar. spray wd40 on the moons, remove the nut, washer and top donut bushing on the lca's 'both sides' then alternate hitting the swaybar at both ends with a bfh. then remove the c couplers from the frame and your done. i would say not to damage the moon bushings because they are specific to the 1 ton 1" thick bar, regular pickups are smaller so aftermarket bushings maybe hard to find.:waytogo:

went back to the junkyard today and someone was pulling the engine. so i walked around for a bit. ended up getting a grill, new door panels, weather stripping for my one piece windows, and corner lights. the people that were pulling the motor brought me the sway bar when they were done:D. got outta there for around $75
