    Hi all,

I'm new to all this. I have a 1972 Hilux and am having a hard time getting parts.
I'm slowly restoring my old little workhorse. Just finished the brake system rebuild, but I can't find gaskets from the brake cylinder to the booster, and booster to the fire wall. Does any one know where I can find the material to make them?

I gots no truck, for now
when you replace the master, it should come with a new gasget to the booster. Booster to the firewall..you might just have to make some out of that generic gasget material. its pretty easy just trace and cut.

    My little Buddy

Thanks for the welcome! I put some pics in the gallery, but they're not very good. Can you find it in the snow? I got it out of a field where it sat without an engine for years. It was given to me for helping a friend move his auto shop. First I had to get the black widows out, then I stuffed a 20R in it. Off it went after a couple of adjustments and some air in the tires. I didn't know what to expect. I had to use a bicycle brake cable for my throttle cable because everything is on the other side. I need an 18R for it. That was in 1998, and its still going strong. It's a mean little bugger in the snow too! It used to be a Mason Shoe delivery truck and I remember it running around when I first moved here in 1979. Who would have thought I'd be driving it now. Sure would like to find that owner.

Rock Auto does rock...and stuff arrives pretty quickly.

I found a local place (Hub auto Supply) that's been around for YEARS that actually had the rotors, calipers, and some other stuff in stock...I got the idea from somebody who suggested Napa (they didn't have much in stock, but could order stuff...probably from Rock Auto...heh).

Check around your area for a local parts supply place that's been around a long time (rather than a chain store)...

As far as making gaskets, easy to do...I used to be able to buy packs of several sheets of varying materials/thicknesses of material, bet those are still around (minus the asbestos ones, of course!).

    Good Luck!

    James
