ok couple of questions about lowering via blocks and torsions

block- doing 3"....does it matter if I get pinion angled ones or not?

torsions- doing 2".......is it possible to get realigned to factory settings with 2" torsion drop?

Blocks, doesn't matter. And yes, you can get it re-aligned. The thing is though, you will probably be sitting on the bump stops in the front and close in the rears. You can modify them by trimming them down or removing them entirely. Pretty harsh ride though.

that sucks! what would you recommend then? I thought a 2/3 drop should have no issues. What do people do that go lower since a 2/3 will be on bump stops...

block are basically the only option for the rear besides lowering leafs which I've heard are really stiff...

as for the front I figured I would try out the torsions to see how it is before I spring for spindles. If it sucks too bad I'll just raise it back up and get some spindles.

I'm also going to try this on the shocks that are already on the truck but will be replacing them with some belltech shocks

I had mine dropped 4" in the back and about 5" in the front and the ride wasn't that bad. That was just blocks and torsions. Just take the bumpstops off completely and you will be alright.

Yeah, most people remove them totally front and rear. The rears can actually be trimmed in half to allow some "bump stoppage".
As far as the shocks go, run the stockers for a while. Most drop shocks are just stockers with different stickers and price tags (valving may be different, but stiffer).

Yes use the pinion angled ones ,you will in time want do do a notch, because of the axle hitting the frame & if you go to bags, & if the rear is sitting right all you will have to do is weld some pieces to the axle before you remove anything so that the axle stays put. Makes things a lot easier!!

okay so does lowering the truck stabilize the body just like it would a normal car?? because im using my truck for drifting and im getting alot of body roll immense body roll.i wanna cut it down but i know the drop might not be sufficient enough. anything else i can do?

Body roll, use bigger aftermarket sway bars. AS far as a 2/3 drop, you should be just fine with blocks and torsion. That's not much of a drop and the only time you should hit the bump stops is on the big bumps (which just about any stock vehicle would have the same thing happen). Sure, it's nicer to get a drop spindle, but you should just ride the torsion drop first and determine if you want to spend the $150-$300 on the spindles or not. I have been running static drops on all of my trucks since the late 80's and I have never had any real complaints about the ride (except the drastic drops do ride like a brick). With the front torsion bars run down, it changes the spring tension on the front and actually stiffens up just a bit, which really helps with body roll and handling, so you may just be happy with that. Btw, most blocks do have a slight angle on top to keep the front of your pinion pointed toward the tranny tailshaft to keep u-joint wear at a minimum.

when you loosen the torsion bars it will drop the front end. But by doing so are you putting camber on the wheels? I would love to just mess with the torsion bars and not buy spindles but I do alot of high way driving and dont want to put inner wear on my tires.

Will I actually have bad enough camber on the tires or will it be ok?

but do you have inner tire wear from the wheels being cambered or is there no wheel camber?
