well after 2 long months of having her parked i finally finished the body work... I wish I would have taken MORE time getting it straight becuase I didnt know the paint was going to be this glossy and show every mark...but NOT bad for a 16 year old doing it on his own and using a complete ding king to start with... heres the pics.. BY the way the color is the same paint code toyota uses on the new FJ cruisers ! so even though its a custom paint job.. its still toyota ! hold on pics are tooo big.. gotta use photobucket

ok so here she is the day I got her.

tint and wheels took the torsion bars OFF and added new shocks and 3 inch blocks... and i took the bumper off....no more bed tool box which is for sale by the way

my blue balls... lol got rid of them though...

Ill add more pics of the bodywork process but my camera is in my truck and the memory card reader is with my english teacher because it has a project on it. but heres a pic on the front end, bought brand new 4x4 fenders from advance auto for $38 a piece.. if your lucky and know someone who works there they can get them to you for $26 cuz thats how much advance pays for them.. the quality is very good. ALSO if anyone has any CHEAP OR FREE 4x4 corner lights, I need them. get with me asap thats the only thing i need to complete my truck for now.

side shot.. i lifted her back up an inch to fit the rear tires better.. didnt wanna damage the new bed.. also I need to buy torsion bars and the bolts toyota wants 200 for them and i dont have that... my uncle threw mine out by mistake. I dont have a pic of the other side... ALSO I shaved the antena.. if anyone needs it, I have a little rubber thing that hides the whole if you get rid of your antena. it came on my truck so look at the first pic... if you want it let me know... spray paint it the color of your truck and your wont even notice its there....

grant custom roll pan that DID NOT FIT ! soooo much fiberglass and bondo to make it look like it was meant to be there... but it came free with the toyota bed I bought... also by the way the blue bed in the first pic is for sale ! the blue balls come free attatched to it !

and here is a pic of it at the paint shop still .... no windshield.. the whole way accross the top where the glass ends was rusted about 5 inches up .... its all fiberglass and bondo now....

more pics and progress to come... let me know what you think !

I have to give credit to my mom for paying the majority of the paint job... sold both of my dirtbikes but all that money went into the materials to get it looking good. And credit for my neighbor he gave me a lot of help and info, hes owned his own shop in PA for 20 years but shut down to come to tampa and he also worked at maaco.

So if you took your torsion bars off, what is holding up the front end? Just the bump stops?

nope... bump stops are gone too ! lol... I just got a good pair of shocks and it doesnt bottom out unless I hit a hard pot hole.. its not the best ride but its not horrible.. but its been like that for 6 months and i have not had any problems. but i do want the torsion bars back on just to lift it up a inch or 2 to level with the back

    Thanks . . .

Thanks for the comments as well. Feel free to ask me anything - anytime, my specialty is electronics and car audio. When I get my other Toyota licensed and insured this baby is going into the shop with the welder, grinder & spray gun to receive a air bag ride all the way around, reverse 4link, and a fresh paint job, then when its out the other toyota is becoming a convertable cruiser unibody & all flat black . . .

very nice, i can't believe the grant customs roll pan didn't fit. I have bought pans from f.b.i., Aim, and stylin concepts and had no problems with fit. maybe cheaper is better.

I'm totally digging the color, I thought about doing mine that color too. Still debating though, I might go with that metallic blue from the new tacoma's. How much are you asking for your old antenna? I chopped mine in half when I shaved my antenna. I've just put a new fender back on that side and I've been looking for an antenna.

well if you want the antenna, its yours plus shipping.. so say 5 to 10 bucks to cover some gas to ? I say either shave it and spend 20 bucks on a powered antenna that goes under your dash from advance auto. OR I got this little rubber piece that fills in the hole.. let me know and ill make time, I have 4 hours of school tommorrow and 2 hours weds. Exams are almost over :) then im free for 3 months... and btw your truck is pretty sweet too...just needs some more time put into it... I wish I could bag mine already !

thanks man, I'll let you know something on the antenna. I bought one of the powered antenna's from advance and it didn't work for me, all I for was static, my stepdad has the same one in one of his trucks and it works great, i dunno what the deal with mine was.

yeah man, that would be great. I need as much performance out of this pathetic 4 banger lol... Its sad that my truck is so slow and the gas mileage sucks.. I only get 18mpg which is only 3 more then my 320hp nissan titan.
