I have never had anything chromed before. But I found out there is a place near where I live that can do it. I want to get my '92 22RE intake manifold chromed.
So, aside from removing it from the vehicle, how would I go about preparing it to be chromed? Would I have to seal it up somehow? I don't want any restrictions to develop when they dip it...
    Anyone done this? Suggestions?

eh, prep and clean the surface.....

IDK how they'll do the chroming.
dipping it? some chrome might get on insides... (can that be a good thing? I doubt so..)

I was thinking you should just polish it up lol

I would just strip it and clean the surfaces. Most people who offer chrome services will cold tank the manifold and plug the holes themselves. You should ask the shop your bringing it to what their procedures are. If they do cold tank it, just bring it to them as is.

just to let you know chroming is expensive!! a local place near me wants $200 just start and that includes 1 hour of work... but every hour after that will be another $200 so its not really worth it unless you have a lot of stuff to chrome at once.
