i have 3" drop lower control arms, and 4" drop blocks. and my back is still a little higher than my front. wat can i do to make da back same level with my front without cutting my frame?? how much lower will my back drop if i pull out da middle leaf?
if you pull out your middle leaf it will soften the ride a bit and drop it down probably 1- 1.5 inches. the rear ends on these trucks usually sit between 1-1.5 inches higher than the front to make up for heavy loads when the trucks are loaded. you can pull a leaf out and if its too low you can always install air shocks in the rear to bring it up just a touch...... they are also useful when you need to carry a load. at 6 inches of drop with the bump stops removed you will smack frame goin down the road. 4 inches without some sort of notch is about as low as you can go without sacrificing ride cushion between the axle and frame. the only other option would be to raise your front end some to even it out with the rear by adjusting the torsion bars........ but thats if you wanna level out the easy way...... i doubt you wanna lift it more.
De-arching can give you up to a 5inch drop. A spring shop will do it quite cheap. I think it cost me $150 for both mine. Then it would be a stiffer spring and you could get rid of the blocks. Or keep the blocks and get a notch. Or run air shocks to make it back-breaking-stiff. Back-breaking-stiff and bouncy. But quite low.
i have 4" block and middle leaf is gone also. axle sitting flat on frame when i took the middle leaf out, the truck just settled and settled till the frame rested nicely on the axle
