Well, truck's gone... started building my new ride up due to boredom and recently increased income. As if I didn't feel guilty enough switching from a Toyota, now I checked out some Saturn fourms, and they're tearing up the top-dog automaker due to the recent recalls.:( Well, then again, look at what happened to the now-dead company. God this sucks... everyone's mocking Toyota now, but still, I REALLY miss my truck now... time to start saving for the next one.

yeh no ****, lets not forget about when gm made all those old silverados that gas tanks would explode, matter fact ford even had expedition that would catch on fire due to cruise control, ford explorers would roll over wit shi*tty tires, even b fore my time the pinto also would catch on fire, gm,ford, even dodge-chrysler has been building sh*tty cars for last 30years, no one talks about that, i can go on about american cars all day.

the new stuff is not junk either!

remember this.... everyone loves it when the top dog falls... thats why they talk about it so much because toyota rocks and they know it!
and now since they have something they can actually talk trash about they do....
if toyota actually sucked.... no one would care!

I think the newer stuff is still Toyota quality in design... And I love my 08 FJ
    BUT
I also think most of the problem with the newer stuff is it is built in the USA...
any truck after 93 was built stateside by one of our lazy neighbors!

some came of early ones from northern cali and japan, i would still buy a new toyota they still are better than any american car any day, and by the way toyota probably employs just as much american people as gm does right now, alot of american cars are not even made here, alot of also closed down, so that shows you when you buy american cars money does not go to american people it goes to american companys which i rather support american people.

    this is true.....

this is more so true..... the best cars are/were built in japan. the standards to what they held over there are nothing compared to what was over here.

honestly....... if i was looking into any toyota truck... i'd look to pre 05 trucks... thats about the cutoff for me...... anything car wise i would go with lexus since the quality is not spared for price or profit... thats why lexus cars are so damn expensive still.....

I believe the lexus is still built only in japan for quality sake

    quality cost money right:)

Half of my mother's family in OhiO works at the Honda plant...

back in the 90's when everyone was on the "buy american" kick
I used to ask them BA guys this:
would you buy a Dodge Stealth... they would say ya, then I would ask would you buy a Honda Accord and of course they would say no...
to which I would reply well a Stealth is made by Mitsubishi in Japan and the Accord is built by my family in Ohio...
    so who is buying american????

most Chevy now days are made in Mexico or Canada i hardly ever see one that is built out of the us when the transmission shop next door sees one they call me over to look @ it needless to say i haven't been called over for over 6 months... and ford had that problem about exploding gas tanks even on the crown vic's police interceptors they made a bumper bolt to long and if they were rear ended the car would explode... GG for ford on that one
