I just got a 94 evergreen toyota. It was the work addition? no carpet, no chrome, no options. I also just scored a 89 white toyota, horrible interior but had the chrome bumper, grill, door handles, tailgate handle. Here are some photoshop pics (by MacRib, thanks again)of what i plan to do to it. MY BIG QUESTION is, go for chrome look, or does black setup look better with the green?
id say for a color about like that, run the chrome nose and handles. should look good. keep the old parts if you decide to go back.
No it is not a work model it is a base model. My 93 came with the non chrome parts, manual steering, drivers only outside mirror, rubber floors, vinyl bench seat, radio delete and no cigarette lighter but I tell people it is the drag pack option James
awesome, i was on the fence on the chrome, but now im going chrome for sure. Now will the 89 stuff fit on alright? and how the heck do you get the door handles, and the dang grill off? i got the top clips but how do you get the bottom?
Here is an actual picture of the truck. the truck was sitting in a field for 5 years. When i washed it for the first time in who knows how long, i noticed the bed is much duller and turning white. I might give it a good ol' spray can paint job. Just have to figure out a color. Still going to swap over the chrome.
If you like your original color.... BEFORE you spray can it, try to rub it out with some polishing compound and wax it. My truck has been from Mexico to Michigan and sat at the the beach here San Diego for a minute before I got it. With a bunch of elbow grease and a buffer, the paint looks pretty good if you ask me. If you're anything like a lot of the rest of us on here, I've got more time than money and "elbow grease" buy the buckets!
the grille is kinda semi-gloss black. SO i put some polishing compound on the bed. It took the green off. so the right side, from the little flare up, is white. Guess ill have to spray can it. So would ANY color look good with the current black grill/bumper?
