I just got a '93 4x4 from my stepdad, but the 22RE engine in it is showing its age...somewhere around 250,000mi. So I'm going to rebuild it. Now while I'm rebuilding, I figure, why not get a little more performance out of it? I've already put a K&N filter on it and a 2.5" exhaust from the manifold back.

Granted, there are limitations to my dream. It must remain streetable, i.e. a daily driver. Also, I'm looking to avoid paying an arm, a leg, and part of my spleen.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

+1 and get a header, thats about all you can do without dumping serious money for some power..maybe even a gear change

you really wanna make that puppy run good...... simple bolt on's like a mild cam, headers, intake, possibly some balanced injectors, and a slightly larger AFM from a supra may help wake that 22re up. still within reasonable price range. :waytogo:
