Looking into Solex locks for the doors of my 76'. Anyone else done something like this? I suppose what im concerned about is getting them and not being able to use them seeing as I doubt Solex made a set specifically for this p/u.

Just wondering what everyones imput on this is.

i saw something about this mod on a datsun site once. the kit usually has a few different bars to use for the inside. fairly simple to modify to use. and you just hand file out the hole a little larger to fit. some cars it drops right in. i prefer the stock ones but solex is an old school mod. just make sure to get the new style that cant be opened with a bic pen haha

I have the APC locks in my 75, look identical to the Solex other than the name on them, simple install and work great. Was gonna put some in my 76 but can't find them anymore.

Interesting. Were they made specificaly for your application or was it a universal kit of sorts?

They were just a universal kit, came with various parts and pieces for installing in a variety of applications. If I remember correctly I used the original hardware plus I have them connected to remote operated power locks.
