thats how we do it in hawaii..we lift trucks so high we accidently run cars over...we just use really big leafs and some crazy custom mounts and shakles...pretty simple if you ask me...

Ground clearance is measured from the lowest point on a truck.....
taller tires give you clearance not lift therefor with 33" tires they have barely more clearance than stock.....

just one suggestion, go post these up on an offroad oriented site like pirate or Ih8mud and watch the responses of offroad vehicle owners.......

anyways I could type more crap but it's pointless

    lol like what you like

btw I was not being hostile just stating my opinion.

just realized something, the first ad with the green truck say 529's IN THE REAR it's likely not regeared in the front = no 4wd lol

Ok, heres a few pics for the haters and the lovers.....I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion but this is just how the local boys in Hawaii do it. I myself dont like how some of them look but most off these trucks are functional and aren't afraid to hit the trails.

The cross member is about two feet off the ground.
So a 4x4 owner would feel differently than myself I take it? Perhaps when I learn more about 4x4's...
Dude, you were saying how this is the gayest form of performance autosports on earth!?
A little presumptuous, mebbe it's possible. Perhaps you should have paid more attention to the ad in the first place before stating that they were not regeared to begin with?

Anyway, I see there is not a cost effective IFS lift option posted here that will handle the rigors of serious use, as there won't be cuz they don't really exist, I don't think.

Badlux, those trucks are sick! I don't doubt at all that they can tear it up on the trail!:waytogo:

yeah budlux those trucks all looks built right... you take a truck as light as a yota lift it sky high and put on it some wideeee assss tires, I dont care how high the center of gravity is, with the added width its good.. still prone to flipping as is ANY CAR OR TRUCK..

To those who say IFS is best, what are you talking about ??? yes IFS is better for 2wd desert running but not the mud, only 1 good thing about ifs in the mud is you wont get hung up on a stump with your pumpkin but you will never be as high as a sas and the higher a sas truck the bigger the tires and the higher the pumpkin is.

hey 93yoter.. is there any mud in OR anyways ?

If you are going to say go to a off road site, please suggest a better one than pirate. That forum has got to be the worst of all the sites. Every single post turns into a pi$$ing match. This is better, your a dumb a$$. da da da.

Being a desert rat all my life, there are all ways 2 schools of building trucks around here.
The pre - runners, long travel, 2 and 4wd trucks, that love the sand and are built to jump and play in the sand.
Then we get to the trail rigs that take advantage of the mountain terrain around here. They are mostly about suspension articulation and ground clearence. W/ some serious armor and sliders. They play in the back country.

These we will say Hawain style trucks, look all most exactly like the trucks you find down south. Florida, Tenn. Alabama. Where there trails are mostly mud and water. Very little off camber climbing situations. So they can be tall, mostly to stay out of the water.

The point I am trying to make is, those trucks are built for there terrain. Looks mostly mud and water. So they probably do a great job. Just like our long travel trucks do a execelent job in the sand, but try to take a pre - runner style truck up north and they don't do to good. Low slung truck and big stumps and rocks, w/ plenty of sh*t to get hung up on. Not so good.

So quit bitchin, just because a truck is built to handle different terrain then you are used to, does not mean it is not functional.

the diff is at virtually stock height ie the lowest part of the vehicle..........

guess I found a way to get everyone's panties in a bunch lol:rolleyes:

No one said "hey these trucks are for mud bogging"

mud bogging is pretty sweet, not my cup of tea but I can appreciate it

I see how these trucks are functional for mud bogging, wide tires for flotation, jacked up high to stay out of the mud etc.

If someone would have said that then viola it would have made sense (posted the latest pics instead of the OP's) instead everyone said they were for running beaches/sand which made no sense because that's generally high speed stuff with turns which would not make sense for having a giant lift.........

not trying to step on people toes....my bad for the confusion

and I'm not an ass hole

and we have mud in OR in fact I hydro locked my 4runner last year and blew the engine playing in the mud

pardon my ignorance on mud boggin trucks

but really people, who cares. most of us dont have trucks that clean lifted or lowered on here. so whos to bitch. if you dont like what they do, build one how you wanna see it. otherwise, just shut up. this site is great because there is no drama. we dont need this to turn into Pirate or StreetSource.

Here is what our trucks mainly look like. Not very pretty. So if I had a chance to go to Hawaii and drive around in one of those trucks. Take those and putt around the beach, hit some trails, play in the mud. Who wants to send me to Hawaii ?????
