Hey guys, I got a 93 pickup (just white right now and might get pics up soon) thats getting ready for paint, but i cant make up my mind on the color.

My plans are to do a two-tone color with white on top, and a shade of red. I cant find a good shade of red! I've been looking for a while now, but i cant find the specific red that i would want.

I'm looking for a deep but vibrant red that will have a shine to it when in the right sunlight. Now being in Arizona, the sun is great here, so i want a red that pops.

I was either thinking like a hotrod red, or maybe the Ferrari enzo red. But those are the only two that i can think of right now.

Can anyone give me suggestions of a shade of red that would suit my desires? All help is appreciated!!

    Thank you very much,
    NeyugN

if you happen to be in the mesa/tempe/gilbert/chandler area i'd suggest going to a place called Space Age paint.

they are just south of broadway, on country club.

they literally have thousands of color cards, hundreds of reds from a variety of brands including house of kolor, X-otic, sherwin williams etc...

and lots of cool old cars/planes inside to keep ya occupied!

yeah dude, I live in Tucson, AZ. And I have a buddy doing the paintjob for me. I've seen his work myself, and im getting a package deal for it. If i buy the rims hes trying to sell, which i am, he will paint my car for practically free. I just need The right shade of red to make the whole deal complete

i used to go there all the time! those deep reds usually come in candies, but there are some imitation candies out now that look pretty good, dodge had some imitation candies, it was on several cars, stratus, caravan etc. like bernie said go to a paint shop and look at their books, you'll be there for hours

since your in tucson, check our Ray's on 6th

damn, i can't say i know of any places in tucson.

i'd say to go with something metallic or candy. plain white and plain red combined might be kinda dull.

yeah i think so, you gunna go metallic in the red?

also are you going to run a pinstripe color?

i was going to two tone my s-10 X-otic eel green on top, and House of Kolor Orion silver on bottom, and pinstripe it with some bright orange or yellow for contrast.

My full plans were gonna be a pearl white on top, and a metallic or candy red on bottom, not sure what brand on each yet, with a maybe silver pinstripe. I'm still not sure on the pinstripe though, just a color i though would be good between the white and red

pearl white with a metallic or candy will look awesome, just remember if you go candy it is close to impossible to match up if you need to do any repairs, also if you spray candy make sure you write down EXACTLY what the mixture was of the basecoat, candy and clear, what kind of gun you sprayed it with, coats, even the temperature outside, or in the booth, this will all help in the future if you need to touch up an area. thats why i suggested an imitation candy. its much easier to work with
