    I am a new member and this is my first post. Ive been lurking around a bit to see if I could find an answer to a problem with my pickup, until I just decided to ask. So here's the problem:

    I have a 94 toyota pickup 2WD auto. A few months ago, it developed a vibration that reverberates through the entire vehicle on decceleration...and its getting worse. What I know;
    1. put the vehicle in neutral, gas on/off, no vibration, regardless of speed.
    2. when decelerating, I remain on the gas and use the left foot for braking, no vibration as long as I remain on the gas.
    3. vib is mostly pronounced when decelerating from highway speeds. So pronounced it shakes the entire dash and so loud you cant hear the radio at reasonable volumes.

    Has anyone ever experienced this same problem?? Any help is VERY much appreciated!!!

    I wouldnt hurt to make sure all your wheels are balanced. Also if it happens when you hit your brakes, you could probably use some fresh rotors.

    I thought about that, but when I apply breaks while using the gas as well, there is no shake. If it were the brakes wouldnt it shake any time brakes are applied, regardless of the accelerator?

    Sounds like my driveshaft ... except mine does it on accel. or decel. because the U joint near the transmission is so bad right now. Crawl underneath and look at the joints in the shaft anymissing peices would be an easy check for that.

    Yep. Sounds like a u joint problem to me for sure. You can get under there and grab the driveline with both hands and rock it in each rotational direction and visibly see where the u joint is failing. It may be necessary to put the vehicle in nuetral and raise the rear axle on jack stands to see the play, but I am pretty sure thats what it would be. U joints are about $20 bucks, but they can be a pain the press out and in the first time or until you get the hang of it. If you have access to a decent sized vice you should be able to repair it yourself.

    That's basically it right there^.
