Have an 88 yota reg.cab shoet bed with a 4 speed looking to get into a 5 speed dont need nothing fancy just something better than a 4 speed i found a g57 off a 94 will that work as a direct bolt on
no it wont, the shifter is ferther back on the 89-95 trucks, you would have to cut a new hloe in the floor, other than that it would work.
if the transmission is actually longer (sometimes the case if the shifter is further back) you will probably need to shorten the DS. i would measure the length of the case to be sure
no need for d-shaft modification. i dropped a tranny out of a 94 into my 86 that ad a 4 speed. other than a small notch on the floor to clear the shifter.... thats all it needed. everything else bolts directly on.
what about a 5 speed out of a 85 toy but the case is steel or cast iron is this tranny better i can get a good deal on one just dont know if it will work like if the mount is in the same position and drive shaft legnth
all the trannies from any 22R/RE/RET will bolt up to that bellhousing. if that tranny came from a 22R/RE/RET it will bolt up to yours.
so if you have a 87 5 speed trans singo cab short bed will it fit in a 85 singo cab short bed 4 speed?
