So.... the worst thing possible happened... another front end re construction MUST happen to Ruby... my neighbor backed her suburban right into the driver side fender n bumper. tweaked the ****! outta my bracket, pushed my bumper over like 3 inches f-ed up my fender... luckily she barely missed my rim... so her insurance is gonna cover it. i hope they repaint the fenders to match the truck now too lol

Wow, someone backed into my truck last weekend too. Drunk ass college student. Worse part is my truck was parked too. I was all sick. Ended up taxing the guy, buying a new fender and pocket some cash too. Hahahahaha

Sorry to hear that. Since its her insurance thats taking care of the bill, it shouldn't matter. You should be able to replace the parts that were on at the time. Look at it this way, you can get the OE fenders now.

Its your truck, what you say goes. If you tell them you want OE fenders, they have to get OE fenders. And don't let the insurance company low ball you. Its your truck, you can take it where ever you want to have the work done.

MOST IMPORTANT: don't accept any check from the insurance company. That says to them you settling. Have them make a check to the shop that is doin the work, if you have a shop do the work (might as well, though, its not your money).

the way it worked in all three accidents my mustang was in (both by our insurance and the other peoples) is they use "used" oem parts.

i personally don't mind since it's the same part i would pull from a junkyard and install myself.

in every case, i've had the option for new parts as long as i payed the difference between the new and used part. and you can pick any shop you want. the first time my car needed a new quarter panel i took it to the dealer. the fit wasn't that great. the second time i took it to a owner operated shop and the fit and quality were outstanding!
