Yup, that's what alot of people have to deal when buying doug's.
Tha't's why I always stick with LC headers!:waytogo:

Bend the pipe bro or use flex pipe for temporary, you will not be dissappointed with the Dougs! The best for the 20/22R's hands down...

    LC is overrated/overpriced! :nana:

There really isn't a price difference between the headers and LC now offers doug thorleys and I think they will price match any competitors price on dougs. And again no mods needed with the Lc headers!

It's pretty much preference really that's all.

    Dougs tri y design
    Lc 4 to 1 design

Its called a header. NOT HEADERS. Headers are on cars with more than one head.

doug thorely makes more then 1 type of header for the 2xr, and LC has quite a few.

imho its DT-502y or nuthin. the tri-y gives the broadest improvement over the whole rev range by making the runners the same length.

a 4-1 header is good for high revs, you could actually tune the header for a fairly narrow rev band, and most are.

cheapest place to buy new ones is www.autoanything.com or ebay some times, but beware of rip offs.

ps headmans are crap, ive had 3...

they all had cracks in the center of the collector, and the welds wernt to hot on the flange.

i think the reason why is because they only made one design for the 22r and 20r which means that it was made for the 4wd and the 2wd. thats the reason why you need to have a pipe to go over....its nothing big but thats what i think

thats the reason why lc engineering makes headers for celicas, toyota pick ups 2wd and 4wd. even though they all have the same motor but they got different clearance in the engine bay and down under the vehicle...

i dunno if that makes sense but yea thats my opinion...

oh yea dough thorley is a good brand for headers....tri y is able to produce lots of power again my thoughts

egr is basically there to dampen nox emissions. it puts an inert gas (aka exhaust gasses) into the intake while cruising to lessen smog, which is comprised of nox, hc, and sunlight. removing egr will not net you any gain, removing it will cause your truck to likely fail smog inspections, and if you ever get pulled over and your hood popped, the officer might notice that as well and ticket you for it.
