about time someone else from OC is on this forum... If you changing your core support anyway you should get the 4runner core.

The headlights can be done 2 ways. You can get some 9004 plugs and just splice them in, or you can purchase a new heavy duty headlight wiring harness. I eventually bought the harness because my headlights were extremely dim tapping into the crappy stock 20 gauge wires

uhm go with the core support, itll make things ALOT easier, especially for the headlights, but thats the only issue really. as for the wiring, i spliced mine in, and i still have no problem

i agree with them. make sure its a V6 core support when you get the new one, as they might be slightly different. and for the 93-95 style, since thats what i think youre after.

and with the headlights, you could splice the wires since they both use a ground wire, a high power and a low power wire. you could run relays from those wires, and run a bigger wire from the battery through the relay and into the light so it gets more voltage and therefore more light. thats more or less what the new harness mentioned is. you can do it yourself or buy them.

Just to let you know the easiest and cleanest way to remove the core support is to drill out the spot welds. Then you can bolt everything back together.

went to school for auto body sure ill drill out the spot welds but ill prospot them or plug weld them back into place seam sealer and all:-D

so these harnesses where can you get them and what do they cost?

i also would assume the v6 core support do to the v6 engine i already have :verdict_in: that engine is a hungry hungry hippo!!!!

thanks for the warm welcome fellow OCer

I bought the harness in my truck from these guys 5 years ago now. They seem to be out of stock at the moment. You could very easily build one with the information on that page.

or ill build you one if help me do a core support

One thing I noticed when I did the swap was the 4runner grille mounts hit some of my a/c lines. Which leads me to believe the pickup condenser and lines may not fit the 4runner core support?? But it wouldn't stop me from doing the core support swap. You can change one in less than an hour easy.

1 hole difference in core supports?? My lights weren't close to any holes.
