Okay, for a while now I have really been wanting to get one of those bumpers, like the one from the Back to the Future 1985 but I haven't been able to track any down without needing to steal it from someone else's truck (not that I would, I've already had something stolen from mine - see cat thieves under general discussion for details). I've even checked the website and they only have bumpers for newer vehicles, like the Tundra and Tacoma (imagine that). I've even seen 2WD trucks, (now where near as low as some of yours) lower than my truck that have them. Other than a junkyard, does anyone know where to find one? Looks like this:

I'm also trying to find a rear bumper that goes with it, However, I don't have an image of it anymore...

Two words; flat-broke. Either way, I do need to ge a new bumper and brackets for this thing because when the fuel pump went out we had to try and get it on our driveway so I didn't have to pay a ticket when the street sweeper came the next day. We had to try to tow it up and even though I knew that it was going to be a bad idea, we looped the tow rope around the brackets and the D*** Ford Explorer bent the whole set-up!:(

well just coming from someone who tries to do everything i can by myself and on my own cause i cant afford to buy/ pay someone else to do it i promise you, you could make that bumper cheaper than you could buy it.

id look into the cost of building one before you go off and buy it

I would try, but my I have to live with my parents right now, I'm still in college and working WAY below part-time (I don't even know if my shifts durations are even legal), beside the point, my dad doesn't have a job anymore, but has just recieved an offer. He sold his welder to make the house payment, my cousin would dod it for me for free, but he just joined the Navy and will be out of communication for a few months.

Yeah, it will be a fun project, I just want to replace my current job and get one where I can work more. SO MANY THINGS I WANT TO DO!!!:D Go ahead and call me a BTTF nerd, but I kinda want mine to look like that truck, except with the paint sceme I have now, two tone grey metallic. Of course I still need to get the AC fixed and replace the vinyl bench with some SR5 features or the 84-89 4Runner interior. Just taking little steps at a time...

Where is everyone finding these bumpers? I've seen a few in Elsinore and want one, maybe more than the chrome. Some of my friends have them on their trucks, but theirs came with it, so they're of no help. I'd really rather not custom make one, so should I try a 4 Wheel Parts store??? There's like 2 or 3 near me.

    Thanks Evol.

I actually checked out Yotatech and among insults to the bumper, I read that it's discontinued, I may get rid of this idea or get one custom made for whenever I fix my front end.

Look on the off road sites, TTORA, Pirate4x4, A much better chance of finding what you are looking for.
