hey all just got a 1992 ext cab pickup SICK love it to death!! got big plans for it next year (2jz n all that ;) but yeah for now i need some winter... i live in canada so i am getting some seperate winter tires...

right now it has 205/75/14's on it all seasons... but i plan on dropping it 2 inches i have read that some people say i wont be able to runs those but no worries on that for now... so i was wondering what size winter tires would i be able to run with a 2-3" drop (3" max) i was thinking 205/60/15's or something to that spec maybe even 215's any advice?? winter tires are only for 5 months or so... but would like them to last even with the drop...

thanks guys will post pics soon!

Do you have 14's or 15's?

You can run a 195/70/14 with a 2/3 drop. Thats the stock tire size as far as I know, I ran it on mine with a 2/3 drop with no problems. I plan on running winter wheels/tires myself. A buddy of is hooking me up with some old 15x7 chrome steelies for $25 for my winter wheels.

    btw, welcome to TM!

RighT now I have 205/75/14's on all season that are in still new shape but I am going to get a seperate set of winters on steelies or something.... So u had no problem with 195/70/14's with the drop huh... Yeah so u think I can gt away with 205/75/14 winters?? Or should I get like 205/60/15's or something I just want to be able to still use them after the drop... Thanks

You can run those stock steelies (14"s) after you install spindles if you get spacers. It worked for me.

I ran my stock 14's with drop spindles without spacers...no issues.

205/60/15's, you getting bigger rims then?

Well I was only going to get bigger rims if I couldn't run the same size ones ibhave now... Regardless I am going to get a seperate set for the winter tires... In the future I would like to get som dirty 295/50/16's or something butthats down the road I won't worry about that for now...

For now I just want to lower and run some winters... So basically the 205/75/14 winters should fit when lowered?? And the all seasons aswell?

Try and stick with the stock size tire. if you change tire size go with a skinny and tall tire. that way you will have better ground clearence, bigger foot print, harder to spin tires to avoid crashing, and the skinny tires will cut through the snow (if you have snow) making it safer to drive. dont go wide! its not like muddin :) I have snow tires brand new that are on my 2jz truck actually. want to buy them?

How much room do you have with the 205/75/14's? Those are taller and wider than 195/70/14's, which you will not have any problems with.

Toytruck, my parents and I have used 205/75/R14 All Season's for 15+ years with no problems.

Btw, I live in Kansas and we get hit hard during winter. And I've gone stuckless last winter.

Anyway, I'm on a 1-2/3 Drop.... somewhere around there. I'll tell you how things go.

btw, trim your rear bumpstops by half their size when you lower. having 1" of clearance wasn't fun with my 3" drop blocks on.

cut them off and BAM, comfort comes back.

I saw the 295 up there and figure showing somebody a visual site might help that.

Actually thats only 8.2 % off.... Wow! (295/40/16 is only .9 % off BTW)
