    dude wen i first got my truck this punk in a brand new v6 mustang tried racing my and my bro. lets just say my brother couldnt believe that we put a door on him going up a hill. it was great

    Yeah so? They are very weak and slow. I do not think they put out more than 90 horses. A Ford Escort can take them:funnyup:

    They can be make to be somewhat quicker with some tweaks and junkyard parts. Fuel injection on these trucks make it harder to mod with the stock computer. You could get a 1st gen Supra 5MGE VAFM to get some extra horsepower. A header with full exhaust works well so doesn't a gear change. Yotatech has some interesting write-ups on the 22RE.

    I love stompin ricers in my 78. As in the ones that think they are fast but mostly stock motor. I used to hang with swapped hondas. These motors can do pretty good considering. There's a reason I'm doing a speedo swap. :D

    And I have tech specs on exactly what air meters to swap to depending what you have. Some are wired differently.

    I haven't tried the VAFM tweak yet.


    I have the 22RE 1994 original motor. thats about it, EFI, cruise, auto, AC, PS

    My buddies truck is an auto with 3:73 gears... It actually gets up and goes pretty good! Wait maybe it's the .40 over slugs we put in it... :evil:

    I have one out of a 84 Supra. I'm asking $60 for mine. Read Yotatech in what you need to do before you buy one.
