I really need your help... I have a paper to write and i need to interview you. Internet is down at my house (reconstruction indoors... carpet to tile) and im gunna try my best to do this. As for my interview, some of you may have heard George Santayana's quote, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." What I would like for you gentleman are to explain how you have experienced this quote throughout your life. You guys would understand this the most, especially seeing the multiple wars and changes that america has gone through. So I would like your insight and opinion on that quote. For others, this quote basically means, "If you don't know past mistakes, you will repeat it." How has seeing the changes in America influenced your life? Has the increased use of cell phones and electronics changed the way of American life good and bad? What views do you have on the next few generations of America? So those are a few questions I'd like you guys to answer. If you gentlemen can answer those soon, I'd be glad! thanks alot! I'll have to finish this paper up soon. Will try not to procrastinate this year.... gawh. Thanks alot!!!
silly kid, i just realized your truck is almost as old as you are. lol. anyways, good luck with the paper. im sure some people will chime in once they get back from the old country buffet haha.
I grew up in the 1950's and the kids I grew up with have been life long friends with each other. We have often said that we all grew up at the best time. We did not have alot of money but we had fun almost every day. Some of us have been very sucessful financially, some of us went to college, others took over the family business, all of us have had relatively good lives. The Vietnam war was the start of change in America. Morales, attitude, beliefs, faith and alot more was lost during that war. I was a Navy Seal, an officer and did 3 1/2 tours in Vietnam. Each tour I lost some of the beliefs and faith I had been raised with. I saw alot of good men die and I am still not sure what was gained. The American people should read / study the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire because it reflects the conditions of what America has gone, is going and will go through. I have tried to keep an open mind with regards to the younger generations and I see many good things but the things I do not see are basics Honor, self discipline, taking responsibility, caring about each other, fighting our enemies to protect what we have, standing up for what is right and the will to endure. I believe you could write volumes on this subject but know this; History will only repeat itself because of people.
Could not have been said better! Born 1946,age 63 years young. We've seen the best years & growth of this country & some changes that have hurt us ! It will never be the same again!
