After I take care of my Fuel Tank Restoration project I'm going to tend to the wheels. I would like to switch the whitewall out and take a sander/grinder to the walls and make them bigger, keeps stock rims and hubcaps. I am curious to see what color combinations have been done! So if you have a pic of a lowered truck on stock wheels and caps, PLEASE post it up or email it to me and I'll post it up!! I'm thinking I wanna chrome my caps and maybe a cream or beige color for the wheels... Let the trucks crawl out of the woodwork!!!
Any reason to post new pics Pics of the hot red head in the rain I soooooooooooo want white walls and baby moons...........
That's gonna look pretty good mega! Is that as low as you are going and are you going to put some white walls on there? Anyone ever see a rising sun hood or roof on one of these trucks?
about 3 inches lower, white walls & babymoons is what im thinking, may leave it as is, and a color change. Not happy with the way the red turned out, bed is off for body work.
thats mine. i lowered it alot its stock 78 14x5s and dog dish caps. im thinking about going to a 15" of some sort, and running more of a cop car style cap. i dunno. its in the air. but, there ya go. and my vote is dont do flat black steelies, they blend into the tire too much. gloss is okay, or a silver color.
Yeah. Bullet or acorn lugs would be a must. And a clean small center cap. Like the ones for what we call the wagon wheels. They look like chrome pop cans. Yes, I know 79/80 had ones like it. Look on eBay, there are bullet centers too. Pretty sweet setup I think. I have to play with painting my extras and see what I like best. I'm tossing either gloss black with a painted on beauty ring or that bronze color. For a very orange truck. Silver looks bad. Wheels look tiny.
I'd like to see you run big whitewalls of your truck with like an avocado colored rim, do you have a side pic of your truck byker? I wanna let someone color the wheels. I like that orange a lot and I bet you could pull of some chrome with such a classic orange truck!
