Hey guys, any help would be incredible. 86mini engine swap. The problem is my steering centerlink is too high. About 5 inches to clear the oil pan. I disconnected the idler arm and pitman arm to drop the steering, but now i will need everything back together. The centerlink looks about as low as the lower control arms and center brace. I have performed crossover hy-steer in 4wd's but i'm just trying to get some feedback on my problem. HELP HELP!!

I hate to say it but hes right... 5 inches is a lot. I am all for modifying steering components and all, but I don't think you can section a drag link that much. Maybe a combination of sectioning the oil pan a bit if you can on an s2000 (I am entirely unfamiliar with this engine) and sectioning the draglink. If you can gain a couple inches on the oil pan I would think a 3" offset might be workable, but 5" is just too much in my opinion. Move the motor up? Run a cowl hood?

ohhh thats right, newer trucks have the steering in front :verdict_in:

this is gonna sound crazy but here me out....

take the spindles off and switch sides, this will put the tie rod hole thing on the back of the wheel.

then go to your local junkyard and get a RX7 or 82-85 celica/supra rack n pinion.

    fab up the mounts.

if you use the celica steering make sure to pull the steering linkage so you can bolt it to your exsisting colum.

if your looking for a manual rack, look for a 82-83 celica coupe.

ive never done this, but thought about it a bit, and i think it would work pretty well.

What about the sway bar, move that up front i guess. I got one, what about moving the drag-link down at the frame with bracing???? of course the same with the gear box.

if you use a rack, the drag link dissapears :D

and ya id move the sway bar in front, using either celica mounts or hilux/corona(78 or older) mounts.
