Ok guys I have a 93 std. cab toyota pickup with a manual transmission. Now my truck came with a tach less gauge cluster. Now right now I have a 3 3/4" Tach screwed onto my drivers side A piller cover which works just fine but I decided I would like to get rid of it and do something less noticeable. So I would like to convert my gauge cluster to that of an sr5 pickup such as this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-TOYOTA-PICKUP-TRUCK-4RUNNER-SR5-INSTRUMENT-CLUSTER_W0QQitemZ250067382148QQihZ015QQcategoryZ33675QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. Is this possible to do? How much work would be involved? Also would the odometer be changed?

I have heard that you need to get the correct year SR5 cluster, which someone will probably mention here soon. The main reason why it has to be correct year, is if you have an electronic speed sensor, or cable.

On the odometer though, you can just roll it back to what your's is now to have the same miles on the new cluster.

If you need more information, visit this toyota forum http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/f80 (much larger) and do a quick search...I know a lot of guys have done it before on there. I would do the conversion...but I just don't like the how the other 4 gauges look. :(

So far it looks like all I have to do is get a 93 4 banger SR5 gauge cluster since that was the first year for electronic speedo and an oil pressure sending unit from a donor truck. Then it all swaps right over and the hookups for the remaining gauges are already there. Then just change the odometer and I'm good to go. All in all this sounds like a few hours worth of work.

    Well, I have a 92...

    So I would need a 92 SR5 4 cyl. cluster, correct?

93yote...maybe do a tutorial on how to do it? :)

ya you will need the 89-92 gauge cluster but it depends on when your 92 was made because the 92's sometimes have 93 parts and stuff. If I end up doing it I'll do a writeup. If someone gives me the parts for free I'll be more than happy to do a very exstensive writeup :).

O I bet you would if the parts were free.

****, I'll do a 2JZ single turbo setup in my truck if someone donates the T-77 and other proper mods good for 400whp. I wanna be smoking Z06's now! :)

    I have a 93 I swaped the cluster on...
    here are the issues
It has to be from a 92 and up and a 22re (electronic speedo)
you may not have the wiring for the tach (mine didn't)
you can take apart you stock speedo/odometer and swap the odometer part into the new cluster to retain mileage accuracy (I did in mine)
if you don't have the tch wiring I have heard you can run the wire... In mine I took the guts of an aftermarket tach out and replaced the one in the cluster... this was ideal for me too since I want to swap to a v8 later and I can just flip the aftermarket tach switch and it will still work

I have a cluster with inidiglo gauges installed. I swapped a 4cyl tach into in from another cluster (it was a v6 cluster) but it never worked since mine had no wiring for the tach. thats when I built up the one with the aftermarket tach installed in place of the stock one... I will sell it cheap...

    gauge

It's a typical reverse glow indiglo gauges... I can take pics if you are really interested...
white face by day and the numbers and marker lines glow at night so they look black in the dark with glowing numbers etc
we could make it part of our deal for the caliper brackets...!..!
    :D

oh yeah it has an aluminum bezel in it too....
