Hey, thanks for looking at this. The alternator belt is/was under a massive timing pointer. Is there a simple way of getting the belt on to the pulley? I have previously done the routine of removing the pulley by using a breaker bar and bumping the starter. Is that the recommended method of simply changing a belt? Appreciate anyone's help here. It's not supposed to be routed under the timing tab... Inner belt: Water pump/Alt/Crank. Next belt(coming outwards): AC compressor/idler pulley. Outer most belt: Power steering.
Oh, that is classic. I never had the belt to compare it for length or routing as it flew off down the road somewhere. Better yet, after taking off everything to get to that level the water pump was already out of the way and discarded (that was the original problem anyway). I just saw the 2 pulleys and said "What the heck?" The water pump pulley is sitting right within reach but I never gave it a thought. Many Thanks Dave G.
