    ahhh

here i thought most 8in truck rears were 4.10 or better.

i really wish there was a list of ALL yota rear ends, and what they came in. i can only find magic decoder list's. not something that says, "X.xx came in XX-XX years"

The 8" with the 3.07 ratio has a slightly offset pinion, this is due to the size of the pinion gear. Look at the front of the carrier, or just find a 4speed 2wd in the yard.:)

I have an 89 22r 2wd 4 speed and a bagged 94 22re 5 speed. I was thinking of unbagging the 94 and swapping the whole rear suspension. Would this throw my gearing way off on either truck? Not trying to jack your thread.

The only thing I have is the 8" 3.07 (G662)3rd member. I do not have a whole axle. Do you need the whole axle?

you can take a look at the center of the rear drum where the hub sticks out....... 8" rear ends have 4 casting lines on the center of the hub. 7.5"s have 2 casting marks.

if you swap your axles around...... your 5 speed equipped truck will have super high gearing...... like 80mph @ 3000rpms kinda gearing. your 4 speed will have the opposite effect and have low gearing....
