Wandered over here because of Shonuff... the datsun guys don't love the toyota's as much as you guys do. This isn't my first yota, I have previously owned an 85 extra cab 2wd, 84 std cab 4x4 (more fun than room full of horny strippers), several ae86's, a te27, supra, ummm... I think you get the point. Anyway, I have been wanting to build a 2wd 1st gen 4runner a LONG LONG time, and when the opportunity to pick one up that was already converted well I had to jump on it. No long term plans yet, short term plans are to make it daily driveable, move the gas tank back under the truck or get a fuel cell to mount behind the axle, maybe bag it, but the wheels and height are DEFINATELTY going to be changed. Anyone wanna trade wheels??? Here she is... not bad, its a good start.
thats pretty F'n sweet right there. ive got some older steelies if you want to trade, stock hilux with the dog dish center caps n beauty rings..... please
Looks great, reminds me of my old 86, I love the 84/88 4x4 grills and also that the top comes off, instant removable hard top, maybe in my plans one day, old school, love it, remember the old ratical tops and targa tops in the eighties, man those were the days.
Thanks guys, I don't know if the PO was on here or not... its possible, but I haven't come across any pics of this truck yet... its has a streetsourcemag.com sticker on it and I couldn't find pics of it there either. The frame is the original 4runner frame with a 2wd truck front clip welded in, easier than using the whole pickup frame in my opinion... so it is registered as a 4runner.
Way kewl, always kewl to see the runners. Looks like your making some great stuff right there. Welcome to our family here, feel free to jump further into our site and show off your colors. . . CYA in the forums . . .
you pick that truck up here in Oregon? it looks familiar for some reason like i saw it on Craigslist P.S. Love the car seat in the back that's my version of a Station wagon if i have to ever get one......
No not in oregon, got here locally from the guy who started the project. The kids really love it, pop the top off and the get full sun and wind in the face. The truck looks good from about 10ft or more, but its no show truck... I've got a lot of work to do, and I just started a new job (YAY!), so time is now in short supply. Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate the enthusiasm.
