I have a line on a free one that suposedly only needs a radiatior and some cleanin up, the old lady just wants it gone from her yard to somebody who likes Toyotas and will get it back on the road. All the information I was able to get is: Its Red Needs Radiator Neads Cleaning No Rust Around 170,xxx miles Anybody have any experiance with these, any special things too look for? Thanks
solid rear axl leaf sprung macphearson struts up front 3tc hemi head 4 banger (known to be built to plain stupid power levels) kinda goofy front end do you know what model it is? theres like 4 or 5 different ones, all powered the same and the front clip is the same. but the rear ends look totally different, the fast back is quite sexy. i used to have one the SR5 sport coupe (yes it had a huge badge that said that) more pics here http://s81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/CB_shonuff/corolla/
Can't beat the price. The 78 had a 2TC 1.6 pushrod hemi engine and all the info you need to fix it up or for mods just go to http://www.3tcgarage.com/
My freind has a 82 corolla with a hemi motor and says there is a huge following of those motors. If I were you i would take the car and post it for sale on one of the corolla forums for sale at an over priced price, and expect to get talked down, and make some money. And I have heard that the motors have powered cars into the 8's.
Hmm... I had a '77 with a 3KC in it. It was a fun car, but the 'K' series engines are pretty gutless. Hell, if it is free, I'd take it... Did they not use the 'K' engine after '77? My '81 Starlet had a 4KC.
I picked it up today, a $20 junkyard battery, a squirt of starting fluid, some fresh gas, and she fired right up and drove right up onto the trailor. Here's some pics, a deep cleaning is first on the list, its been sitting since 2004 and is only a one owner car. 2TC engine, 5 Speed, Deluxe model.
damn....... you bastard! that thing is in perfect shape! sooooooooooooooo lucky......that thing is pimp
All 71-82 corollas are great cars. The 2tc/3tc motors are practicaly indestructable as long as they have had the minimal maintence, i.e the occassional oil change. The 75-79 corolla's are the least desireable BUT as they become more RARE there popularity will rise. 3tcgarage.com is the place to go for some info. I currently own 6 corollas in diifferent stages of builds but my favorite is my 79 corolla. I have owned her the longest and she started my fascination with the corollas.
Damn that's sweet... These old Corollas make me miss my 77 Corolla... :-( Oh well... I have an 08 Corolla, but it just isn't the same...
Your lucky. If that had been a wagon, i would have to come take it from you...lol Been looking for one to redo for my mother. It was her favorite car....till i wrecked it wen i was 19....lol
Nice coupe. Got mine all cleaned up today and took it for a spin. Found the leak in the radiator, not fixable, and that the water pump is on its way out, no biggie, and adjusted the carb. I have to say I'm likin it, its a great little car especially considering it was free. More pics lol
