So my trucks been running a little iffy lately... and i've been thinking about things to do to tune it up etc...
Unfortunatly engine knowledge is where I lack the most.

Its a 8RC, but I think it has a higher compression head swapped on to it... (story from the previous owner)
Just as a background, i've replaced the condenser, cap, rotor, wires, coil. Rebuilt the carb.

The point of my thread is that there is this box on the drivers fender that a slew of vacuum lines run to. Currently its useless, as half the lines are unhooked either at the box or the other end of the line.

Does anyone know how important this lil bugger is? I don't necessarily want to completely remove it, but if I keep it i want to know its with good cause.

that would be the emissions control "computer".
a bunch of vacuum switches basically.

anything you dont want to hook up should be plugged. but it does look like thats what controls the vac advance, and could make it run better, if it still works.

either way your vac lines look horrid on that thing i would replace em and clean out any clogged ports.
