Engine skipping

    So i throttled the engine for like 30 sec and i found out that it tends to skipp or fart a few times, guys know what could be the problem?

    I'm kinda dumb when it comes to motors so forgive me, but have you done a tune up lately. When I did mine a while back I accidently mixed up the plug wires in the distributor cap,

    nope but the spark plug are good.... the truck runs good its just it does this when i throttle it when it parked.

    why do you need to throttle it for 30 seconds when it's parked? if it runs good when you're driving it I wouldn't worry about it

    maybe it does it while driving but under a load its not noticable.

    Look for a vacuum leak, lean carb, emissions system problems, etc.

    if it misses when he holds the rev's up then there is a problem, but if he's dialing it up to 6 or 7k then thats understandable.

    but anyway change the fuel filter, replace the plug leads (if they havent been done in 10 years) and plugs (you've said they are new so dont worry about them) and set the timing with a timing light before going any further
