Hello. I need help figuring out what engine would be better fit to hook up to my 5 speed tranny because I need to swap out my 20R for more hp and torque.

 

The best engine to swap for more horsepower and torque while keeping your 5-speed transmission is a 22R or 22RE, as they bolt directly to your existing transmission and provide more power than the 20R.

 

It's the same bolt pattern?! Thats great news. I'm planning for a swap and was worrying about finding a suitable adaptor since the 20R+W50 transmission isn't as common as the 22R.
