OK, this is not my write up for the egr valve removal.

if u look in the pic, the green circles is where the block off plates go for the exhuast side. On ur stock motor u should see a pipe there. pull this pipe off. to make ur own block plates, just trace those mounts on some say 1/4" metal. and drill out those 3 holes, u will be set. now before u pull off this pipe, make sure u can do the egr vavle too, as this pipe goes to it. Btw, you sould be able to buy the gaskets for that pipe at ur automotive store (advance auto, autozone, and so on) if u need some more help, i will try to re-phrase what i typed.

ok, here is the best pic i have of my EFI motor that shows the egr valve. it will be mounted in the same place as the Carb motors. the only difference is where the pipe goes from the egr valve..

    Green circle = EGR valve
Red circle = egr valve pipe

Just to let u know, that when i removed my egr vavle from my carb motor (first pic) i also removed all the vacuum lines. i really do wish i took pics of my stock motor now. oh well. but the ones that went to the carb i capped off with rubber caps. and i only kept the ones that went to the vacuum advance on the distrubutor. also another side not is i didnt have a stock carb when i removed my egr valve i was putting on the weber 38mm downdraft so it made things alot easier.

Ok thats alot, i hope this will atleast help, or give u a better understanding. If not when i get my plates in, i hope to remove the egr valve and make the write up on it with in the week of getting them. Any questions, just ask :)

More pics of engine check my cardomain site..

taking the egr off of a stock carb/efi is not easy.

sure you take it off and plug it up, but will it run right?

best way is with a weber, otherwise id just fix what isnt working. functioning emissions equipment will make the car run better, usually a can of carb clean and some vac lines will fix it up nice.

remember that the ECU for a 22re is a brain dead monkey playing pong. doesn't handle change well.

Hey guys, new to the forum here, man, this is like heaven for me! This place is exactly what I was looking for. lol. Anyway, I am having some issues with my egr system as well and I don't want to take away from lowlux, should I just start a new thread of my own? Thanks guys.
