Hi Guys, I put a 1uz in. 83 SR5. It had working AC and everything and now I’m starting to regret it. Had it running for over a year and all of a sudden the car would cut off at stop lights or not start after parking it. Got progressively worse to the point where it won’t start at all anymore. I think I have it narrowed down to no ignition. But I don’t know enough about these systems to troubleshoot any further. Anyone in the DMV (northern Virginia) area that can lend a hand?
Guessing you have a first gen 1uz, those have distributor issues on both banks.. once you get water into those they start to corrode on the contact point. Gota change those for new ones. Start testing there.
