So i have a 1995 2wd shortbed pickup that ive owned for about 12 years.. i purchased it for 900$ and the thing is downright indestructable. I have pretty much retired it though, and hardly have drove it the last year, and its pretty much for hauling light stuff around. I have a 01 2500 suburban, a 05 silverado, a 86 caprice and a 2000 corolla so i hardly drive it.. ive always been into lowriders and mini trucks my dads a professional fabricator and im considering building a static cruiser out of it.. so could i do a 3" drop leaf in and 4" block in the rear with a mini notch and a progressive bump stop or would it need a full c notch? Ive never seen a 4" block on a drop leaf... 7" would put it pretty low.. id also like to do a 3" drop lca in the front with a 2" drop spindle up front and maybe index a swayaway t bar to level it? Would this setup work for something thats just going to be babied around or is it to extreme? Could you run 15" wheels with the u bolts that low and would a 15 clear a drop spindle? Im just curious what yall think

When I started my build when I retired in 2001 , I rode static dropped for a few years , always with the plan to go bags.
I rode with Belltect dropped spindles, 2'' dropped leafs with 2'' angled blocks , the 3rd member would hit the frame hard. So I went ahead & installed the CanDo 8 piece rear notch kit!
My ride height at static was 4.5 frame to ground, as is now bagged for many many years.

:applause: thats awesome. Ive played with some lowered impalas/caprices and g bodies and silverados but never a small pickup. I have considered doing a full c notch but wasnt sure if i could keep the bed intact with a full notch. My other question is was about pinion angle.. in theory a 3" drop and a 4" angled block would work if it can pass through the frame, but im not sure what havoc that could cause the drive line, the drive line would probably be about straight or even possibly inverted

What I did when static should have kept the pinion angle as stock, but did not!
I started having a noise that I chased for a long time.
Finally found a shop & person who knew drive lines well. He came up to mu house & watched the truck move through all down to all up & I took the drive line down to his shop & the fix was made. A double cardan ,and a h-yoke , stub shaft outboard splined slip yoke and new u-joints .
No noise at any height now!!
    I have a 2 piece drive line .

How much did it cost? And how bad was the drive line noise? And how hard was it on the driveline to run like that? Haha Id like to do a 7" drop in the rear and a 5-7" in the front and probably just stay static.

Could i get by with an angled block and then shimming it? I just dont know if it would mess up the alignment and spacing of the shaft to do raise the axle that much..

The noise was bad enough you could hardly talk over it! I didn't notice it for a while as drove to shows with the windows down & stereo up by myself, when my friend started going with me stereo off windows up it was quite noticeable!!
The noise sounded to be right under us , at the trans, I pulled it & watched while being pulled apart, NO Damage Or Blueing!! Changed the carrier bearing & u joints still a noise, tried differant riding heights , still a noise ! Went to another trans ( better for my engine ,not stock). Noise still there!!
I spent a lot of $$$ chasing the i noise, my truck is a full custom show truck!
The drive line fix was around $800 , well worth fixing!!

I will add I drive my truck 5,000 plus miles a year to shows all over Cali, down to So Cal, up to OR, WA NV. longest RUN 980 MILES NON STOP , 14.5 HRS !!

Thats dope you hit shows all over out west i grew up in everett washington, but live outside eugene oregon since 06. My grandpa was born down in vallejo though haha and right on. I guess ill try the setup i wanna run with an angled block and shim it and see how it goes? If its rough on the drive line i guess ill have to look into having one made up‍.. i assume ited be well upwords of a grand out here nowadays but if hillbillys can make it work on super lifted crawlers/mud trucks and people make 20+ inches of travel on prerunners smashin bumps all day it can work on something thats just gonna cruise on pavement haha
