Hello, trying to sort out what gap for new rings. Stock pistons/bore. LCE recommends MINIMUM of .0035 gap per inch of cylinder diameter which would give me .012 rounded up to .013 (stock bore 3.48 in x .0035)

When I look at the chiltons manual it says piston ring gap .004-.012.

Am I looking at something wrong here the maximum on chiltons seems to be the minimum for LCE, any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Normally when u have new rings it'll also come with gap specs for your application.. If I remember correctly, the 22r is 3.62 bore which nets you a .013 minimum. So, a .012 maximum on a 3.48 bore is correct.
