i was wondering if anyone knows if 16x8 +25 wheels will tuck inside the wheel wells on a 91 2wd with 3" drop strings and 2' drop spindles and not rub the suspension or the fender lip
If you have access to a local rent a wheel center, you can try on many different sizes with tires before you buy.. food for thought
From whats been said before, a 15" wheel will rub on the control arm or ball joint, 16" should clear. these wheel specs and drop are very tame so you shouldn't have any issues tbh
thanks for the info from my reseach thats what i came up with as well this is my first mini truck build ive been build drag cars for 30 years so all this +25 type stuff is new to me im used to backspace measurements
Google offset to backspace. +25 on a 8" wheel is something like 4.5" backspace i think. ive had to do the same conversion because i like old american wheels and most are in in backspace dims not offsets
+25 on a 16x8 is about 5.5" backspace. To calculate: (Wheel rated width + 1" ) / 2 ) + offset in inches. So 8" wheel is: (8+1)/2 + 1" = 5.5" You need to add the 1" because wheel width is bead-to-bead. The lips add 1/2 inch on each side.
