Not my truck image for reference anyone running 17”-18” rims on their 1970’s hilux if so how wide are your rims and what is your back spacing / dish offset for not rubbing on tie rods/ sway bar
17x7 ~0 offset 205/40/17 About a 6/5 drop Rubbed the firewall only at full lock but i have no steering stops
Very nice love that stance do you have a side view so I could see how full the wheel figment is looks like it might be the size I want for rims
Looks nice I think I’m going to be looking at 18”-19” rims for what I’m going for I appreciate the pics
Im going to do a custom coilover setup sorry it took me so long to reply I didn’t notice the last response
Time to revive an old thread: hey @jetas what do you think about 17x7.5 +42 but on a 1” spacer? I’m looking at wheels that are 5x110 and would run a 1” adaptor to 5x114.3
Probably wont be too bad. If I'm doing the math right, your adapter will move the barrel out to where its closer to what would be a +17ish offset.
That’s my thought, just hoping I can avoid fender rolling and such. I’ll be dropping on mighty max springs like my 74 was, but thinking to possibly add a leaf and de-arch for the rear to get spring rate right, my 74 hit bump stop too easily with stock springs and blocks
Sorry to Zombie thread this, but I'm wrapping up a major renovation on a 77 hilux and looking into rims. I would love to run 205/40/17's. I'm on a stuck suspension, but I don't want any rub at full lock. Any idea if that rim size would work without the 6/5 drop you mentioned? Thanks, Brett
I'd imagine those should fit without the drop. PO had 17s with wide tires on my 75 at stock height, and no rubbing. Those were 215/55-17 and 245/45-17, I don't know the wheel specs but they were Ford Mustang "starfish" wheels.
