Hey everyone this is my 1983 hilux with a ecotec swap I bought for $500 off my boss. Mod plated aswell I don’t have big plans with her as I will only drive it when it’s raining so I don’t need to ride motorbike and obviously when I wana do skids, I do plan on tidying it up and just making her look presentable and reliable. Yes she’s a bit rusty but it was $500…. So fair I have taken the old tub off, I will try and find a photo of her with the tub. I would much rather have a tub but original one was too far gone and doubt I’ll find one especial being xtra cab. So I have taken the tub off and cleaned up the chassis a bit, this weekend I will spray a rust converter on then primer then black paint and just freshen it up a bit all under there. Also changed a few old cracked fuel lines and spray rust protection inside the front panels. There’s 2 rust holes in the cab itself that I will cut out n just weld a sheet of metal in, aswell as putting a bonnet and drivers side door on that I found from the wreckers. They are red so I plan on speaking to old mate next door to my work n seeing how much it would be to slap a coat of silver paint over the door and for the bonnet I’m going to save n get a brand new bonnet online. Now to the tray, I have a alloy tray of a 07 hilux with different mounts as the tray is 200mm wider than original, I plan on just cutting a hole n bolting her straight on, does anyone know if I’ll come across any tyre rubbing or any problems with that? Even a better way of doing it would help. So far I have spent $800 on it and should hopefully get her on the road and done for less than $1.5K
