a bit of backround.

this is my first car. I was originally going to get an S-10 or a Ranger, or a newer early 90's toyota. almost bought an '88, but it sold before I could make it. Found this '77 on CL for a grand and hopped right on it. Refreshed engine and trans (although there is a head leak :/ )

Turns out, it belonged to my brother's friend, who tunes STi's and Evo's and stuff like that. or whatever.

3in blocks in the back, 2 1/2 coils cut in the front. 15" alloys off a junkyard grand marquis (15x6.5). Rusted out floors and rocker panels

I had those grand marquis wheels on my other truck! enjoyed them wished they were wider

 

thanks dudes. i'm pretty happy with the overall look of it right now, as it's pretty much exactly what I had in mind. only a few things remain:

a new passenger front fender (already on the way)
a new front valance
and a matching coat of paint to make it all match. same red color.

and gotta start saving up my pennies for somebody to weld me some new floor pans. I can see waaaaaaaaaay too much daylight through those floors. especially passenger side. I'd post a picture, but i'm actually a little bit embarassed.

oh, and some real low-profile tires for the front. 195/50/15 or something around there.

 

ur truck jus has that old school jdm look... iLike it! haha some yellow lenses for ur high beams and those japan style mirrors that mount on the fenders and u'd be set! keep up the good work...

 

Finally having the floors fixed, dropped it off at the guys house with a return date of 9 days from now and the promise of "perfect floors, just like factory". Until then I drive an Infiniti q45t, bleegh.

I see a lot of rot areas ,cut these out & weld in new metal.
That & any surface rust can be coated with a product called Por-15, get @ any auto paint supply, it goes right over bare metal ! Brushes on & shows no brush strokes!
Kills rust & prevents more!
When dry does not come off your skin ,so take care!

I believe I ended up with drizzle's truck seven years and a few owners later. Got lots planned for it, but im still finishing up other projects before driving in to this. The previous owners gave me a heck of a head start with the vision on how this should look. Need to fix a lot of rust... Among other things, but the 20r is still running strong. Hopefully get it roadworthy by Summer 2020. I'll post a new build thread when I get started.

ebay has a few. about 550 for a new pair plus shipping from Greece. There are fiberglass ones on ebay for about 200 if I recall right. RN20 is going to be the best way to search for body parts. But in the case of the 72.5 to 74 there are some changes like the front clip and cab size.

 

Got a link to these fiberglass fenders you speak of? I've never seen them for our generation truck
