22re timing help

    So I replaced my head gasket on my 22re and now it does want to start just cranks. Need help, is my timing right. Do I install the distributor at tdc or 5 btdc. 20180519_164254.jpg 20180519_164310.jpg 20180519_164348.jpg 20180519_164310.jpg

    Install the dizzy while the engine is at TDC.
    The rotor does need to end up pointing directly at the #1 after it rotates a little on it's way in.
    Hard to tell but it kind of looks like the rotor needs to be turned a little further clockwise, there's a chance that you are a tooth or two off with the dizzy drive gear.

    OK thanks, I'm going to install it at tdc and see what happens.

    The dowel pin on the cam is supposed to be a little to the passenger side, not straight up

    Be sure you’re at TDC on the compression stroke.
