ive Been looking around and saw that you can use a Mac off a supra 5m. Question, does it have to be a specific year or any off the 5m will do. Also what are people's air intake setups with what adapters?

i have heard (on the 22rte-trucks sight i believe) of people using supra MAFs because of their larger diameter, but they have to rework the connector.

Correct, all you gotta do is get it up to a 3" tube, it's like the world's easiest mod. Use a heat gun and get your stretch on.

I know a lot of 4x4 guys swap the battery and intake locations as well, and then all the aftermarket 5MGE intake upgrades fit as well.

intake/battery swap is a great way to instantly fail any visual inspection for CARB legality,

I live in Idaho. No one looks at anything.

Like I said, it's something a lot of 4x4 guys do. As with anything in this life, YMMV.

I'm not sure the diameters and stuff, but also look into a bored throttle body, because that can be a choke point for air as well, and if it is smaller than the MAF, then what is a wider MAF going to do?

All depends on how cool you are with your smog guy. I've been going to the same guy for years and he wouldn't care at all.
All my reading and research has said that the major bottleneck in the 22re isn't really in the intake tube, or AFM, or TB, its in the head itself. The heads flow like crap from the factory from the valves being too small, and the ports being very turbulent and slowing the flow down. Doesn't mean its right but, that's what Ive found online.

Again with the 4x4 guys, I read time and time again, full write ups of people doing this swap and being very happy with the results.

The hard fact though is that, at the end of the day, it's still a 22RE. There's only so much you can expect, but hey, it'll fire right up every damn time.

Hey, if you're looking for one of these, I'd sell you the reman one I have (because it's nicer and newer than my OEM one) as I'm taking my 5MGE in the Supra out of commission. I paid just under $90 shipped and it saw approximately zero use.
