Long time lurker, first time poster. This is my third Toyota Truck since 1992. My first was a 1984 4 speed 2wd that had Keystone Klassics when I bought it so I stuck with the 80s lowrider theme. I wish I had pictures of that truck. It was so much fun. It was killed by a woman that pulled out in front of me while I was going 40mph. My second truck was a 96 Tacoma 4wd extra cab that was indestructible. I beat the snot out of that truck and it asked for more. Ultimately insurance totaled that one in 2013 when a teenager clipped my rear end with his daddy's GMC 2500 4wd. I wish I had bought that one back from the insurance company and made it a flatbed. I got the want for a small truck again like my 84. This lead me to my 77 4 speed manual. I'm not sure what the wheels came off of. They are CraigsList specials. They looked right for the truck's age and included good tires. I hope to do a motor swap but right now the 20r in it now has good compression so it seems like a waste.
Thanks. Its been a lot of fun. I have not seen a pre-79 in person since I purchased this one. I see lots of 80s and 90s but no 70s 4 headlight trucks yet. If there is anyone around the site northeast of Atlanta please reach out.
Hey man i would love to see it in person. I live in Dawsonville so, I am not too far away from you. I just scored a 74 lwb. restore project. I just got some spindles and calipers for the front brakes. I took my drum spindles out. anyway, shoot me a pm. I would love to see the truck! grab a drink at Summits?
