So for the past 2-3 years I've been looking for a pre-83 Hilux/Pickup because i (sorry for what I'm about to say) HATE SQUARE HEAD LIGHTS and I also like the bed, interior, and the all around simplicity of a pre-83.
But over hearing to my old coworkers about 2-3 months back talking about what rims they want and what size on the charger/camaro/challenger/mustang they're gonna get , me and my friend/co worker started talking about the cars we like and what we've had. So I said, you know I've been looking for a old pre-83 for about 3 years now and can never find one in decent condition or atleast driveable, and as soon as I said that I saw it in his face, he said really, I have a 1981 pickup that's been sitting on the side of my house for about 10 years I really only use it as a hauler. It runs starts drives and shifts good, not much to look at but it gets the job done.
Longer story short, he was trying to sell it but could never come to it, but he trusted me and said you know what I was looking to sell it for 1200 but I'll give it to you for 800 cause I know you'll take care of it.
Got home after the buy typed in the vin and luckily for me it's an SR5 .
Since then I've done some re wiring on the windshield wipers, cigarette lighter, fusible links, blinkers, and a modern radio tuned the card some, lowered it 3" rear 3.5 front. And she's my daily driver

Great price too! When I saw the "SR5" I thought it might B a LWB. I've been offered an '83 diesel. Don't know the yotas. Need lots of help on them altho I've owned/restored a '70 Ford Bronco now 4 bout three decades.
