My 91 ecu didn't work in my 93. I mean it did but it ran like crap and would die at times. Barely moved when put in drive aswell. They changed them over the years. I think 90 and 91 or 92 are compatible.

I was wondering cuz i looked at both ecu and they have the same connections, the reason im asking is cuz for some reason i replaced my tps and it seems like its not reading at all. So thats why i was wondering if i took the 94 model ecu and put it in my 91 if it will run the same and pick up my tps readings

The connections may look the same, but you need to review the pins and what each wire does. For example, if one set of pins (connectors) are identical but one pin could service one sensor while the other, although in the same location, may provide another reading. Get what I'm saying?

Me, preferably, I get my research done first before making the purchase. As evidence shows, you're starting to wonder if the ECU's from different years are compatible. I'm not saying they are nor am i saying they aren't. I'd usually get the ECU that is from the same year.

On another note, you said you replaced your TPS? Did you calibrate it before you put everything back on? Is it safe to say you bought the correct TPS? Because there are two different types of TPS for the 90's gen. I know this because I hit a long bumpy road trying to figure that shit out. I literally just went thru early this year.

Let me know and I'll point you towards the right direction.

    Esta.

Well i got the ecu at the junk yard for like 20 bucks lol so if it wasnt compatible i wouldnt lose out as much as if i bought a new one haha but havent tried it out yet....also the tps i got it from autozone so they looked up my specific year and thats what they gave me, me and my prim tried to calibrate it with multimeter and everything but wasnt reading for some reason like we would jump the diag box and it would bring up the error code for tps...its still puzzling me and my prim cause we cant figure it out but yea prim any help would be appreciated! Thanks prim!

Everything got OBDII in '93. That's going to make a difference.

Are there any part numbers that can be compared? If there is a difference wouldn't that tell ya or am I over simplifying??
