Does anyone happen to know the stock head gasket thickness? I'm thinking to switching to an MLS gasket and need some reference.

    Thanks!

Is that compressed thickness or a new unused gasket?

I have an uncompressed HG, that's roughly what mine measures. But now that you mention it, I don't know if the MLS numbers are closer to a compressed size or not. I didn't want to call LC, because I'm probably not buying from them as they don't have the size I think I need, but I may have to.

I just don't like to steal their time if I'm not buying from them.

    Ok...

I found the proper info (I think). The stock OE gasket is around .060" uncompressed. The proper MLS gasket for stock thickness is .040" This is due to the fact that the OE gasket compresses quite a bit whereas the MLS will not compress nearly as much.

Isn't an MLS gasket multiple layer or metals? (I've never used one..) it would make sense that they don't compress as much since a stock gasket is mainly graphite/composite..
