Crimes Against Automotive Humanity (Rust v. Metal.....)

    Picked up this '77 for next to nothing. The 20R runs like a top - it drives and stops and everything on it functions properly.

    Only thing is - the floor pans and rockers are completely toast. PO had it covered up with multiple layers of carpet - along with a variety of aluminum, thin sheets of wood, tons of sheet metal screws, duct tape, rags, bondo and god knows what else.

    I am going to attempt to make it safe again - going to try to rebuild the inner rockers and the floor. The metal seems to look good from the frame toward the center of the cab.

    First time for me doing a project like this - feel free to chime in with advice. Thx

    I'd find another cab to cut out the rocker panels and floor. I'm debating doing the same thing with my 77 chinook but I may also just swap the camper to another long bed. I have similar issues with rust in the cab.
