1/2 ton or 1 ton?

    I'm new to toyota so here's a stupid question. I have a 1988 pickup how can I tell if its a 1/2 ton or 1 ton? Thanks

    I have a 3/4 ton-the axles shafts diameters are a lot bigger, balljoints are different, transmission different, differential is different than 1/2 ton on mine. I've owned 5 1/2 tons. I know the brake pads were different in 1980(my year, I'm pretty sure you can check the vin as well not sure details on that aspect. Most are marked on body decals(maybe not all)W
