22re swap

    hey guys im picking up a 22re motor loom ecu package out a corona.
    what will i need to swap it into my current 22r hilux?
    what are little things that i will probally miss? this is my first engine swap i know its not going to smoothly.

    Only issue will be wiring. Everything else is straight bolt in.

    Oh, and fuel delivery. I got an EFI tank and EFI fuel lines out of a salvage vehicle. That way I could keep OEM fuel filter, pump, sending unit.

    ok cheers i didnt get it cos i figured it was too hard without a donor car so i recon ill build my 22r with side drafts im not good with electrics anyway haha

    Electronics r pretty simple on the 22re only difference is the intake, fuel injectors on intake, and knock sensor. Then all ur accessories. U could always use an inline electric fuel pump and regulator. But sidedrafts are cool ha

    im still unsure the sidedrafts are not cheap haha and im unsure and maintenance, i also am keen on efi and maybe a sneaky turbo set up if i could find a donor car so i can see how its all connected

    throw a weber 38 and a hot cam in that thing and call it a day. Maybe do a custom cat-back exhaust like I did for good sound, without waking up the neighbors when you pull out of the driveway. And by cat-back exhaust, I mean cut off everything after the cat and dump it. Them old cats are perfect mufflers (basically free if you haven't tossed it yet), and give just enough back pressure to hold in your torque.

    At least, that's been my experience. Opening up the exhaust to 2.25" may help depending on the hotness of the cam.

    ok will keep that in mind.
    im not sure what type of exhaust its got at the moment i think its a 2-2.5" system
